A prolific writer in her own right, Jo Dawson hails from a small North Island town of Wellsford. Raised on a dairy farm, Jo takes much inspiration from having grown up surrounded by classical and historical fiction. Blessed with a vivid imagination, as a youngster, Jo was bosom buddies with Anne Shirley of ‘Green Gables’; romping with Jo March and her sisters of ‘Little Women’ fame: sailing a raft down the Mississippi with Huckleberry Finn, and living in the ‘little house’ with Laura Ingalls, of ‘Little House on the Prairie’.
Having spent fifteen years as a teacher in New Zealand and abroad in both Australia and America, these experiences have added to her love of people and history.
Jo currently resides in the small North Island town of Waipu in New Zealand, where she lives with her husband, sons, father in-law and two very lazy cats.
